In this role, you will be responsible for building and supporting Chroma’s internal tools and engineering workflows. Hundreds of millions of engineer-hours are wasted worldwide because of inadequate tooling within and across teams. Many engineering organizations make tooling an afterthought. Chroma does not make the same mistake. AI can make us faster - we need to figure out how. You will work closely with the technical staff to build or adopt tools and processes which accelerate technical progress across Chroma. You will be expected to evaluate or build tools which get people unblocked and keep them moving. You will be responsible for figuring out how we can use AI at Chroma to go faster. You are an experienced software engineer who has built your own tools to accelerate your own productivity. You like to fiddle with your dotfiles. You hate waiting.
