In this role, you will work on Chroma’s core vector storage and search technology. You will be responsible for inventing, building, benchmarking, and optimizing the vector storage engine which underlies the entire Chroma stack. Alongside vector search, you will invent systems which store and manage data and metadata as core components of the programmable memory stack. You are experienced with working on databases at a systems level, and understand engineering tradeoffs with respect to performance, correctness, and consistency. You will work closely with the Distributed Systems team to ensure the core engine remains performant at scale. Prior experience with vector storage and search is desirable but not mandatory.
