Product Designer
We’re looking for a Product Designer who brings a strong sense of visual clarity and structural thinking to complex interfaces. You’ll work closely with our small, fast-moving team to improve the usability and visual consistency of ComfyUI — one of the most widely used tools in generative AI.
What is ComfyUI?
ComfyUI, in the simplest form, is a node-based engine that enables users to generate visual content using AI. It is the most popular and powerful visual AI framework with more than 60k Github stars, thousands of 3rd party extensions and millions of users.
But this is not where it stops,
ComfyUI is and will continue to be a tool for artists of the future: a human equipped with AI who can be an order of magnitude more productive than before.
ComfyUI will continue evolve to further to democratize AIs for creatives, hobbyists, storytellers, studios, developers, and enterprises.
It empowers those who were not trained with the power of the brush to also be a painter and those who do to be a maestro.
It will become an Operating System for visual Gen AI.
It will unlock a world where no stories is left untold

About Us
We are a small, intense, and well-funded team in San Francisco who push ComfyUI and its ecosystem forward. Our team comes from Stability AI and Google and many contributed to the ComfyUI ecosystem way before working here.
Our organization is flat and there is no hierarchy, only categories: dev, arts, prod, ops, etc (and no, there is no one here with the title of Member of Technical Staff, it’s long and silly for a job title).
The only thing that matters is the quality of your cultural fit and execution. We work hard and demand a lot of each other. But we have fun: everyone is here to make something meaningful that will end up being our life’s work. If this mission excites you and you view yourself as a top-tier talent, your future latent self is waiting for you at Comfy.
About you
We’re looking for someone who thrives in complex, technical environments and cares deeply about crafting thoughtful, usable tools.
You’re able to design complete user experiences — from first sketches to polished UI.
You have strong visual taste and a desire to bring consistency to large, sometimes chaotic systems.
You simplify complex problems and workflows without oversimplifying their power.
You work from first principles — you don’t blindly follow “best practices” but instead invent solutions based on real user needs.
You’ve either designed or deeply used complex creative tools (e.g. Blender, Maya, Houdini, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).
You are proactive, curious, and eager to learn how people actually use the tools you design.
You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, prioritizing problems, and iterating quickly.
You’ll be joining a team that talks to users often and builds fast. If you’re excited to shape the future of a tool used by millions of creative professionals — we’d love to meet you.
About the Role
This role starts with hands-on UI system work:
Creating a simple, scalable design system in Figma (typography, colors, components).
Polishing and unifying existing UI elements (modals, menus, panels, node blocks).
Turning wireframes and UX flows into production-ready interface designs.
Once you’re familiar with the product, you’ll own more complex UX challenges:
Redesigning workflows and UI patterns that are currently confusing or fragmented (e.g. error handling, settings menu, node search).
Proposing improvements to onboarding, contextual menus, and in-app navigation.
Helping us simplify the app while preserving the flexibility that expert users love.
Partnering with engineers to get designs shipped smoothly and iteratively.
This is a high-impact role where your work will immediately shape how users interact with ComfyUI.
Skills we are looking for:
Expert in Figma — comfortable building design systems, prototypes, and production-ready UI.
Strong grasp of visual design fundamentals — hierarchy, layout, spacing, and typography.
Experience designing complex interfaces — preferably for creative tools, node editors, or developer environments.
Comfortable working autonomously from rough briefs or exploratory concepts.
Bonus: Familiarity with generative AI tools or ML workflows.
Bonus: You have used node based software before
Bonus: Prior startup or early-stage product experience.
