About Readyset
At Readyset, we are building a database cache with zero integration cost - just swap your connection string and take read latencies from ~100's of ms to under a ms while reducing costs. It precomputes the results of prepared statements (i.e. parameterized SQL queries) and incrementally updates these results over time as the underlying data in your database changes.
Readyset is wire-compatible with MySQL and Postgres, so it can be integrated with your existing application without code or database changes– Readyset makes it easy for developers to build performant web, analytical, and internal applications regardless of whether they’re deployed to a single region or around the world.

About This Role
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the GTM team during pre-sales to identify customer needs, provide technical expertise, and address challenges.
- Act as a product expert, offering technical support and driving technology evaluations for prospects.
- Actively drive the technology evaluation stage of the sales process with our prospects of various technical levels.
- Develop technical content (e.g., documentation, articles, white papers) to establish thought leadership and educate customers and prospects.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to advance Readyset based on customer feedback.
- Create and maintain reusable assets like guides, demo environments, and pre-sales materials, to support scalable processes.
- Build trusted relationships with customers to drive adoption, expansion, and long-term success.
- Represent Readyset at industry events, webinars, and conferences.
- Maintain deep expertise in database technologies and industry trends to proactively engage clients, identify new opportunities, and provide post-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction and product adoption.
You May Be a Good Fit if You Have…
- 5-7 years of experience in a customer facing technical role (sales engineering, solutions engineering, etc.) for database or caching technologies, with a minimum of 3 within a pre-sales environment.
- Strong SQL expertise and hands-on experience with database optimization, caching, or scalability solutions.
- Proven ability to work with enterprise customers in complex technical environments, solving database performance challenges.
- Outstanding presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
- A scrappy, independent approach, excelling in end-to-end project ownership and problem-solving.
- Published articles in the DBA community about database solutions and deployments is highly desirable.
Benefits and Salary
We have raised over $28m from great VC funds and angels to fuel our growth and help us take our product from an ambitious research prototype to general availability. The salary range for this role is $160,000 - 220,000 USD per year. This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail.
