About the Role

Teleskope is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering and AI organizations during a critical growth phase. This role owns engineering execution end-to-end—translating product vision into secure, scalable systems while building a high-performing team.

You will report directly to the CEO and partner with product, data science and go-to-market leadership to deliver a reliable, extensible platform used by every Teleskope customer. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone who thrives in early-stage environments and can operate at both strategic and tactical levels.

This is a hybrid role requiring 3+ days in-office in New York City.

What You’ll Do:

• Own engineering strategy, execution, and delivery across the Teleskope platform.

• Build, scale, and lead the engineering team, including hiring and development.

• Set technical direction and architectural standards for scalable, reliable systems, while staying close to the work through engagement in the codebase and guidance on execution.

• Partner with CEO and product leadership to execute the roadmap with speed and quality.

• Establish strong engineering processes without sacrificing velocity.

• Guide the productionization of ML-powered and agentic systems.

What You Bring:

• 15+ years of engineering experience, including 8+ years in engineering leadership roles.

• Proven experience scaling teams and systems at high-growth startups.

• Strong technical foundation with the ability to guide architecture and complex systems.

• Experience with data-intensive or distributed systems in production.

• Familiarity with ML and AI-driven products.

• Strong communication skills and comfort partnering with executive leadership.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience in security, privacy, or data governance domains.

• Background working closely with ML or data teams.

• Experience scaling teams post–Series A.

• Experience working with multiple clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) as well as on-premise environments.

Compensation Range: $260K - $300K
